[Speaking Part 2] Describe an occasion when you lost something and then got it back

  • What you lost
  • How you lost it
  • Where you found it
  • And how you felt about the experience

(What you lost) I’m a forgetful person who puts his stuff all over the place(idiom, khắp mọi nơi). Over the years, I have lost quite a few valuable things. Only a minority of those lost things have found their way(tìm tới chỗ nào đó) back to me, and the rest has disappeared forever. There was a time I thought I had lost my Macbook Pro 16’ forever, which cost a small fortune(idiom,rất mắc).

(How you lost it) As mentioned, I’m pretty absent-minded. I went to a coffee shop and I left it right on the table. After that, I went to the toilet and headed straight to the car park and drove home without remembering leaving my laptop in the coffee shop.

(Where you found it) All of a sudden(rất nhanh), the laptop sprang to my mind(đập vào đầu ai đó) and I rushed back to the coffee shop right before I reached home. En route to the coffee shop, I nearly collided with some vehicles. While I was driving, a staff member of the coffee shop called me to inform me about the laptop saying that the unattended(không được chú ý) laptop caught his attention(hút sự chú ý của ai đó) when he was cleaning the table.

(And how you felt about the experience) I would say that I was so scared as Ho Chi Minh city is notorious for its higher crime rate compared to the nation’s average. However, when realising that my laptop had been unattended for nearly 30 minutes without getting stolen by anyone, I felt over the moon(rất hạnh phúc) and swore that I would never leave it unattended in public places like that again in the future.
