(what it is)
The term entrepreneur (khởi nghiệp) has been all the rage (idiom rất phổ biến) recently as thousands of successful start-ups deliver motivational speeches to inspire entrepreneurship. Among different kinds of small start-ups, Mekong Home homestay, located in the Mekong Delta, has emerged as one of the most successful ones in the prime age of tourism in Vietnam.
(how you knew about it)
As AirBnB, an app which supports homestays, has succeeded in running marketing campaigns and offering lots of deals for both customers and homeowners, it is regarded as an ideal alternative to traditional hotels, which will cost customers an arm and a leg(rất mắc). Facebook and Instagram have been flooded with thousands of posts about AirBnB services and some months ago, I stumbled on Mekong Home homestay.
(how it became succesful)
An article on Audley Travel cast a spotlight on(làm cái gì đó được nổi tiếng) Mekong Home homestay, helping homestay gain independence from AirBnB. First, Mekong Home homestay was just like millions of other homestays on AirBnB. However, Mekong Home’s creativity and ardour for the Vietnamese culture lifted her first homestay out of AirBnB as Mekong Home homestay expanded. Mekong Home has built many homestays in other provinces in the Mekong Delta.
(and explain how you felt about it)
I believe that Mekong Home homestay, albeit operated on a small scale, should be an exemplifier(ví dụ) of the importance of creativity as well as a profound knowledge of the local culture. Also, her success can be attributed to the fact that she alone has built a small niche business(Doanh nghiệp ngách) that caters for culture enthusiasts and ran her business(điều hành một công ty) on own during the first days of Mekong Home Homestay.
Other homestays in Vietnam should follow this model using the cultural traits of their own regions to apply to their own homestays, creating an atmosphere that represents the local region’s culture right in the place where tourists stay.
